Hughes News #42

"Tie your shoes and pray for the Hughes"

Dear Friends,

The image to the right is from a prayer letter written almost three years ago while we were still in our first year of deputation.   For some time, it has been our desire to be able to team up with another family here in Moldova.

It is a blessing to be able to announce God’s answer to that prayer. Before deputation, we came into contact with David and Stephanie Gross. Since arriving here, we have developed a friendship and have appreciated their eagerness to serve the Lord and to help us however they could. Independently of each other in fall 2011 we began considering and praying about the possibility of working together. Last year David and I met together monthly to seek the Lord’s will about teaming up. We also sought counsel from our respective pastors and the directors of our missions’ agencies.

If you are interested in learning more about the Gross family, you may go to their website: grossmissionaries.com

At the end of last year, the Lord confirmed in each of our hearts that He would have us work together. Once we have completed language study and a short furlough, we plan to move to Soroca. In the months ahead, we will share more about the city and how God led us to choose it. Please pray for us as we seek God’s will concerning specific plans for our work together in Soroca.

In His service,
Jacob and Viola Hughes
